Sun and colleagues receive NSF grant

Yanni Sun, Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, has been awarded an NSF grant with MSU team members Shinhan Shiu, Associate Professor in Plant Biology, Kevin Childs, Visiting Assistant Professor in Plant Biology, and Ning Jiang, Associate Professor in Horticulture, and with Mark Yandell, project PI from Utah University. The project is titled "Developing an Effective, Portable Annotation Engine for Plant Genomes". The abstract of the project can be found at:

The overarching goal of the project is to produce a plant genome optimized annotation pipeline that can be widely used by the plant research community and will be incorporated as part of the iPlant Cyberinfrastructure.
