Liu and Torng receive Withrow Awards
Alex Liu and Eric Torng, received Withrow awards at the 21th Annual College of Engineering Awards Luncheon on March 24, 2011.The John D. and Dortha J. Withrow Endowed Teacher / Scholar / Service Award Program recognizes faculty and staff who have demonstrated excellence in instructional and scholarly activities and rendered distinguished service to the university and the student body.
Alex Liu received the Withrow Distinguished Scholar Junior Award. This award is presented to a faculty member in the College of Engineering who demonstrates excellence in scholarship.
Eric Torng received the 2011 CSE Withrow Teaching Excellence Award. This award recognizes outstanding performance in instruction as well as student mentoring and supervision in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Recipients are selected based on nominations from students.
