ITEC participates in FIRST LEGO League
The Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) of Lansing participated in the FIRST LEGO League regional tournament hosted at the MSU College of Engineering on Saturday, November 15.
More than 150 students from Lansing and nearby areas, ages 9 through 14, competed with fully autonomous robots they had designed and built themselves. The robots were required to perform specified tasks related to the 2008 theme—Climate Connections.
Adam Pitcher, CSE systems analyst, and Jake Denzer, CSE undergraduate student, coached the ITEC team.
Sixteen teams of 7 to 10 students competed. ITEC placed 6th overall.

A nonprofit, collaborative partnership between community, business, education, and government, ITEC's mission is to increase technology skills of Lansing area children and adults so as to better prepare them to participate in a fast-paced, global IT-based economy.
